MSHA Part 46 Training for Mining Operations

Satisfy federal and state regulations while also welcoming new employees to your mine site with an MSHA Part 46 training program that lets them know their safety and well-being are your top priority.

What Is MSHA 46 Training?

Stemming from the necessity to ensure the health and safety of miners, the Mine Safety and Health Administration introduced MSHA Part 46 Trainings in 1977. Part 46 Training pertains explicitly to sand, gravel, stone, crushed stone, limestone, clay, shell dredging, and colloidal phosphate surface mining operations.

The Mine Safety and Health Administration requires that each MSHA 46 Training is conducted by a certified safety instructor who is adequately prepared to present on all underground and surface mining aspects. The topics covered in our MSHA Part 46 Training include an overview of surface mining, common health hazards in the mining industry, best practices for communicating about hazards, the basics of mining machinery and equipment, and an overview of mining health and safety standards.

How Do Our Part 46 Trainings Work?

New miners require Ppart 46 training prior to ever working on your site. As such, their first experience with your mining operation must leave a lasting, positive impression. With this in mind, we have developed two options to select from to provide your new miners with the training required in the format that works best for you and your miners.

On-site Training

If your mine is located in Nevada, Utah, or Arizona, one of our licensed instructors will travel to your mining operation to conduct an on-site training for your new miners. This option encourages discussion amongst your miners and allows our instructors to answer any pressing questions while providing an unmatched level of engagement.

Virtual Trainings

MSHA 46 Training can easily be started online and allow your miners to receive their training in the way that best suits their schedule. This flexible option saves time and resources by eliminating the need for miners to drive to your site to undergo their training.
