49 CFR part 40 covers the requirements to become a qualified BAT in the DOT alcohol testing program. Each of the requirements must be met which include: basic knowledge about alcohol testing in Part 40, qualification training in accordance with the DOT Model Course, and proficiency demonstration to include 7 error-free mock tests.
Protected At Work has found that a self-paced read of the DOT Model Course, with quizzes to ensure comprehension, in conjunction with a two-hour video to review the information and demonstrate alcohol testing exceeds the required qualification training. Upon completion, a live webinar course (4-6 hours) will be scheduled to provide Q&A time to complete the proficiency training requirements to include the 7 error-free mock collections.
